Congratulations to Yuqi Liu, Qi Liu and the whole team on the wonderful achievement in resolving the structure and assembly mechanism of mouse oocyte cytoplasmic lattices. I’m truly proud of this work!
After visualizing the cytoskeleton of sperm, we became curious about what the cytoskeleton of the oocyte might look like. This curiosity led us to initiate the project in early 2024. Cytoplasmic lattices turned out to be extremely fragile, so we developed a Cell Lysis on Grid (CLoG) method, which allowed us to capture their near in-situ structure.
